Being an indie author can sometimes frazzle my brain! There is so much to learn, so much to know, that it becomes mind-blowing. I have learnt so much in the last five and a half years since I released my first book, yet sometimes it feels as if I know nothing! I know there are so many authors who feel the same. We do know lots and lots author peeps! It’s just that there is always so much more to learn, and let’s face it, algorithms are forever changing, which is a challenge in itself.
This month I have challenged, or rather am still challenging, myself with setting up a paperback and hardback version of the Shadow Sentinels Collection. To do this I have had to use a different publishing platform than Amazon. Amazon, unfortunately, doesn’t produce books with so many pages. I guess production and shipping costs don’t hold enough profit for them. I am learning to set up through a platform called Ingram Spark. It’s different and comes with its own set of challenges to overcome. The interior files and covers are different file formats to Amazon. I won’t bore you with the details, other than to say, it’s taking me a while to figure it out!
Thankfully, the paperback of the collection is approved and I have managed to order my author copy. I will have to wait quite a while for it I believe, as there seem to be significant hold-ups with production and shipping at the present time. If you are interested in purchasing a copy, either for yourself or as a gift, just keep checking back to my website shop to see if it is up yet.
I’ll send a notification out to my e-mail list when the shop is up and running. I have just done some test purchases that seem to have gone smoothly, so I will start uploading products very soon.
