Indie publishing is not for the faint-hearted!

You may wonder what the fireworks image has to do with the title. I assure you, that is what my brain looks like with all the ideas and jobs that keep exploding through it today (and most days!) I have a million things to do and only one admin day a week (if I’m lucky) in which to do it all.

Today is that day.

Currently, I am on job number four of 15. And of those fifteen several have multiple sections. For example, I am currently writing blog posts for the next three months as I don’t have time to post if I don’t schedule them. If I post twice a week that’s roughly 25 posts. Now times that by Goodreads blog, Facebook page and group, twitter, tiktok, Instagram and my Patreon. Hmmm, that’s a lot of posts and content to think about and write!

All I’m saying is if you are interested in becoming a self-published author there are many things you will have to do, and only one of them is writing. If you work full time too then trying to find a happy medium between family life, work-life, and running your own publishing business is something that you will need to consider.

I spend my weeknights trying to write and post in my reader group, and then try and catch up on business admin and social media posts at the weekend. I know this means I don’t post as often as others or at the frequency I should to make me pop up on my readers’ feeds but it is the best I can do at the moment.

If you’d like to ask any questions about self-publishing or becoming an indie author than please feel free to comment or email me. email@karentomlinson.com
