Trying something new is often a bit scary. But as with many things in life, it can be good to challenge ourselves. I love to meet challenges head-on. That is in-built in my personality, well, it is now! It wasn’t when I was a teenager. As with most awkward teens, I would avoid conflict. Anyway, I digress!
I love a good challenge, so when an author friend threw out a challenge to work with her on a co-authored a book, I jumped at the chance.
The concept of working with another author does frighten me, and that’s because working by myself, I am not beholden to anyone for my time management and deadlines. Well, no one but myself. But I have decided to give this new experience a go and see how it goes. I am still trying to understand how we will divide up the workload, characters and side characters so that when we write, we get consistency throughout the story.
We have made a start on our characters and story plan which is helping me to get a handle on the direction the story may go in.
It will be paranormal romance, and definitely for 18+ readers! Demons, angels, shades, and humans will all play a role. I am already in love with the main male character, who I am going to write.
So who is my co-author, I hear you ask? It is the lovely Claire Marta. I am really excited to be working with her and can’t wait to see our finished product.

There are no timelines for completion as we both have other projects on the go, but I will dedicate one evening a week at least for this project. I will also add it to my WIP bar on the home page of my website www.karentomlinson.com, if you’d like to keep up to date with our progress.
